Furry Friends Adoption Website
Context:
This was the second project in the Google UX Design course. The prompt was to create a pet adoption website. I wanted to make a website that was more personalized and fun to use, but also organized.
Challenge:
Pet adoption websites can often be old-fashioned, disorganized, or not include the filters people need to find what they are looking for.
Solution:
Create a pet adoption website that gives users the ability to save pets they are interested in and a way to learn more about the pet adoption process.
Scope: Google UX Design Course
Duration: Two weeks
Tools: Adobe XD
Role: Concept, Wireframe, Prototype, User Research
Sitemap
Creating the sitemap, my main priority was to make sure that the website would be very personalized and highly customizable. This way users would have an easier way of finding the type of pet they are looking for. It also allows users the ability to see what pets have been on the site the longest and are in most need of a home.
Design Process

Lo-Fi Screen Flow
I started with a simple layout that included a simple homepage and basic outline of a pet adoption flow.

Usability Testing
User Personas
This is a user persona of what type of person might come to the website looking to adopt a new pet. Leonard is a father, full-time architect, and he has had past frustrations with other pet adoption sites when he is not able to easily find what he is looking for.

Final Iteration

This final iteration of this design includes first and foremost, a straight forward adoption process. The personalization of the website includes the ability to create an account, specific filters, favorite pets the user would be interested in, and a clear adoption form that the user submits through the website. The customizable search creates an easy user experience that invites the user to find their best friend without stressful hoops to jump through.
